Gary Turchin is a performance poet, artist and writer. He recently released an illustrated book, If I Were You, a humorous, whimsical and wise look at life. His next book, Ditty-Ditty Doggerel, A Life From Bad To Verse, is due in Spring 2012.
Gary's interactive poetry show, Gary T. & his PoetTree, features his original rhymes and poems. He has performed it in more than 250 schools and libraries throughout the state. He was on the performance roster of Young Audiences of San Francisco and the Silicon Valley and has won three performance art grants from the city of Oakland.
Gary has released an audiotape, On the Day Before Tomorrow! and a CD, My Pants Want to Dance!, with his original verse. He has published two books of verse, I Want to Write a Poem, But... and The Silly-Verse Universe.
Gary was also a newspaper columnist (1999-2004) with Oakland's Montclarion Newspaper, and a graphic artist whose funny t-shirts designs were sold in major national catalogues.
